// KAZAKHSTAN 2020

Ride giant and unexplored faces with your splitboard and skis
sleep in a science station at 3.500 meters altitude
Within just 45 minutes by jeep you will be in the middle of impressive mountains

From the cosy hotel to the alpine camp

Thanks to our connections in Kazakhstan we can use every mountain shelter, hut and other structure. Igor Podgorski is familiar with the country and its people and he always leads us to the perfect snow spots. The warm-up and acclimatization takes place at Shybulayak resort – the almost only developed skiing area in Kazakhstan and our first destination.
There are two chairlifts which will take you to the high mountain region to embark onto the first 4000 meter tours. Depending on weather conditions, we plan the upcoming days. Second destination is the science station on Tuyuk-Su glacier which will be reached via helicopter. It is surrounded by enormous mountains and steep slopes. Third destination will be the Cosmostation – another highlight of the region.

An Expedition in the Teen Shan Mountains

Tian Shan mountains

If the Tian Shan mountains are not yet on your bucket list, you should definitely consider to write it on there: Almaty is like past Chamonix and there are countless glaciers, mountains and downhill runs.
The difference between the famous Chamonix is, only a handful of people
are interested in skiing and snowboarding and the area offers lonesome mountains, untouched slopes and many first descents. The winter season lasts until July and in spring it is very likely to find fresh powder on the steep slopes. During our last stay, we had been presented with two rich snow falls

Expedition to elevated Tian Shan

If you draw a line from Kitzbühl in Austria to Nieseko in Japan, Kazakhstans biggest city Almaty is located right in the middle.
Almaty has a rich history of mountaineering and alpine sports including one of its pioneers Igor Podgorski. We are more than happy to have him in our team – he knows what the mountains of Almaty have to offer and hold in store.

Five good reasons for Kazakhstan

  • Multiple descents from peaks at heights about 4.000 meters about sea level
  • Igor Podgorski Kazkahstans skiing pioneer will guide you
  • You will be there during the time when we can guarantee you the best snow possible
  • You will go through an unique experience when we will take you to an isolated station for scientific research at a height of 3500 meters by helicopter
  • You will experience this far away from crowded skiresorts
